How To Deal With Junk Email
Do you get advertisements for new products? Promotions for diet aids, pill to increase one part of the body or pills to make other parts smaller? Do you get announcement of new software or books? You name it; mass marketing for these items flood our email inboxes every day! We are all recipients of junk email these days! Every time we turn around, more and more junk email is being produced!
So what is junk email?
Well, basically junk email is created with the intention to advertise. And advertise anything and everything. Promoters work under the assumption that if they mass produce and send out email that they will see their products and websites. And it must work, because more and more unsolicited email is being seen everyday!
How do I get rid of junk email?
There are a number of ways that you can try and get rid of junk email. By using a spam filter to filter incoming emails you can reduce the amount of junk email or spam that enters your inbox. The unsubscribe feature at the bottom of a junk email rarely works and in many cases it only serves to confirm that your address is a legitimate email account. You can always try complaining to the ISP. In many cases, the spammer is in violation of the Terms of Use guidelines and you can have the account cancelled in this manner.
However, probably the most effective way to reduce the occurrence of junk email is by setting up a no junk email account. If you set up an account with a hard to guess email address and use it only for friends and family members, you will reduce your level of junk email. Be careful with the email address; you should use another email address for newsgroups and registering with websites but keep this new address totally private.
Junk email is a problem for everyone, and while it may be difficult to completely eliminate the problem, there are steps that you can take to reduce it.
