E-mail Acronyms
An acronym is a word formed from the initials of other words e.g UCE is an acronym for Unsolicited Commercial E-mail. In the early days of the web bandwidth was king. Bandwidth is still important today but we don't have to concern ourselves with every bit or byte than travels to or from our PC.
Way back in the days when bits and bytes of data were important every trick in the book was used to reduce the amount of text used in each message so acronyms became very popular. Below is a selection of common acronyms that are used in e-mail, instant messages and in many other forms of 'net communication.
